Fertilization & Weed Control FAQs

Both programs include fertilization, pre- and post-emergent grass and broadleaf weed control, season-long grub protection, surface-feeding insect control as needed, and a lab-based soil test. The 4-application program spaces visits 6–8 weeks apart. The 5-application program visits every 4–6 weeks and is best for irrigated or regularly watered lawns, which use nutrients more quickly.

We target the weeds most common in Central Maine lawns, including crabgrass, dandelions, clover, chickweed, and other broadleaf weeds. Pre-emergent applications stop many weeds before they sprout, and post-emergent treatments handle the ones that break through. A thick, well-fed lawn is also the best long-term defense against weeds.

Yes. Both lawn programs include season-long grub protection, plus control of turf-damaging surface-feeding insects as needed. Grubs are one of the most common causes of brown, dying patches in Maine lawns, and preventing them costs far less than repairing the damage.

It is an add-on for any of our lawn programs and is included in our Green Plus Program. The treatment improves soil structure from the roots up, promoting deeper root growth, better nutrient uptake, natural resistance to disease and pests, and better water retention during dry periods.
